We also conduct The Rugnasahayak (Patient Assistant) Certificate Course of the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University. Apart from the regular subjects related to basic health care, the students get additional exposure to palliative care.
Once they complete the course, the students can play an important role in medical institutions and also as caregivers at home.

Duration: 1 year
Eligibility: Must have appeared (or be appearing) for 10th standard examination of any recognised body. Those who have cleared 8th standard and have 2 years of experience in hospital work are also eligible.
Fees: Rs. 2000 payable to YCMOU. Cipla Centre does not charge any additional fee.
- First 3 months: Theory classes conducted at Cipla Centre.
- Next 3 months: Training in various hospitals attached to Cipla Centre.
- Last 3 months: Training in the wards at Cipla Centre.
Stipend: Students will be paid a stipend of Rs 1500 per month during training. They will be expected to work in shifts.
Subjects covered: Basics of anatomy, physiology, medicines, emergency care, essential English and basic computer use.
