"Cipla is not just about making medicines, it's about making a difference. I wanted a Centre where cancer patients and their families would be cared for in the most difficult times of their life."- Dr. Y.K. Hamied, Chairman Cipla Ltd. & Founder, Cipla Palliative Care & Training Centre, Pune
Tucked away on a serene five-acre campus in Warje, Pune, the Cipla Palliative Care & Training Centre was founded in 1997 by Dr. Y. K. Hamied as one of India's first dedicated palliative care facilities. Built on the belief that patients and families facing serious illness need more than medical treatment, the Centre reflects Cipla's enduring promise: Caring for Life.
Offering completely free-of-cost care, the Centre has supported over 28,000 patients and their families with dignity, empathy, and compassion. Through the Family Care Model, we care not only for patients but also for caregivers—addressing their physical, emotional, and psychological needs during some of life's most challenging moments.
