A Homecare Transition: Launching Maharashtra's Largest Palliative Care Programme
We transitioned our home-based palliative care services in Pune to CanSupport, a recognised leader in home-based palliative care, to deepen reach and strengthen quality of care. This strategic shift enabled the expansion of services across the region and enhanced on-ground delivery. Together, we launched Maharashtra's largest home-based palliative care programme, spanning five talukas with nine dedicated care teams. To date, the programme has supported over 900 cancer patients, backed by a strong referral system that ensures seamless continuity of care, right where it matters most, in patients' homes.
Bringing the Palliative Care Community Together: Our First National Partners Meet
We convened our first-ever Palliative Care Partners Meet to build capacities and enable knowledge exchange, bringing together over 70 participants from more than 30 partner organisations across 19 states and UTs. The gathering served as a vibrant platform for shared learning and collaboration, with focused discussions on advancing paediatric and neuro-palliative care, leveraging technology to strengthen service delivery, and addressing critical gaps within the care ecosystem. This milestone convening marked an important step towards a more connected, resilient, and future-ready palliative care network across India.
Shaping Policy, Expanding Care: Enabling Goa's State Palliative Care Framework
We played a catalytic role in the launch of Goa's State Palliative Care Policy, making Goa the fifth Indian state to adopt a state-level policy in March 2025. We provided strategic inputs and helped lay the foundation for integrating palliative care services across medical and district hospitals. This policy-driven approach translated into real impact on the ground, reaching 1,952 patients in FY 2025–26 and strengthening access to compassionate care within the public health system.
